Standard Operating Procedures
The position of General Manager is that of President of Fredonia Radio Systems. The General Manager is responsible for serving as the spokesperson of Fredonia Radio Systems, representing the organization both on campus and in the community. On campus, the General Manager must develop effective relationships with the President of SUNY Fredonia, the President and Vice President of the Student Association, the Student Association General Assembly, and the Media Advisory Council in addition to the student body. Within the community, the General Manager often works with local and town officials, the Fredonia Chamber of Commerce, and various contract holders such as WQLN, which provides our NPR programming.
Duties:
● Chair all meeting of the executive board and general staff
● Attend all SA General Assembly meetings and President’s meetings
● Participate in and attend meetings of the Media Advisory Council
● Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the station’s Doctrine and Policies
● Foster open dialog between various organizations and departments
● Coordinate the efforts of the executive board of Fredonia Radio Systems
● Make appointments to their respective operations positions
Public Relations Director
The Public Relations Director is appointed by the General Manager, and (s)he shall report their progress directly to the General Manager.
Duties:
● Act as a liaison between Fredonia Radio Systems and the media/public
* Conduct Surveys and utilize other techniques to acquire information on how to improve the on-air and off-air operations of Fredonia Radio Systems
● Work in conjunction with the executive board
● Manage a public relations team
Webmaster
The Webmaster is appointed by the General Manager, and (s)he shall report their progress directly to the General Manager.
Duties:
* Maintain www.fredoniaradio.com both aesthetically and in functionality
* Place important information conveyed from respective departments on the website in a timely fashion
*Continue updating Digital Online “Archives”
