Show Spotlight: Blue Devil Radio

Every wonder what’s going on in the wonderful world of Fredonia sports? Tune in to Blue Devil Radio with Chris Hoyt for the latest and greatest news and updates on our sports teams. The show airs every Thursday from 12:00-1:00pm on WDVL 89.5 “The Inferno” as well as WCVF 88.9 FM. Blue Devil Radio features interviews with our coaches and players. Each week, Chris interviews a different coach or player, partly to get some insight on how our teams are doing, but also to provide the listeners with an appreciation of the personal lives of our coaches and players. In an interview, Chris said, “They are real people, not just coaches and athletes.” While the show provides a Division III perspective on sports that we don’t usually see in the media, the personal tidbits are what make the show. Chris’s first interview of this semester was with Coach MacDonald of our Women’s Basketball team. During that hour long show, they spent 15 minutes talking about basketball and the remaining 45 minutes talking about her fight for equality with men and women in sports. Chris said, “it’s cool to understand personal aspects of the coach.” So if you are interested in hearing from the coaches and players who represent our university, be sure to tune in on Thursdays at noon!
